Betsy Ross Elementary School
A Word From Our Principal
I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you and your children to the 2025–2026 school year at Ross Elementary!
Now in my second year as principal, I remain deeply committed to building upon the strong foundation that makes our school such a special place. At Ross, we believe that academic success begins with ensuring each child feels physically safe, emotionally supported, and genuinely connected.
I lead with both a passion for education and a heart for kids. That means we are not only focused on academic excellence but also on creating a school climate filled with joy, connection, inclusivity, and positivity. Every child, regardless of background or ability, deserves to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Our mission goes beyond just teaching core subjects, we aim to nurture each child’s character, celebrate their uniqueness, and grow their leadership skills.
As a true community school, Ross offers engaging programs before and after school from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. These include extracurriculars, enrichment opportunities, and experiences in sports, music, the arts, and more. We also prioritize integrated student supports to meet the physical, social-emotional, and mental health needs of our learners.
Through shared decision-making, we invite families, staff, and community voices to the table—because we know that the best solutions are created together. Our work is grounded in strong family and community partnerships, and we believe that when everyone is engaged, students thrive.
As we begin this school year, please know that my door is always open. I value your input and partnership as we work together to create an environment where every child is safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.
I look forward to connecting with you and making the 2025–2026 school year one to remember!

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Regular Board of Education Meeting of April 8, 2026
Anaheim Elementary School District Staff Development Center
1001 S. East Street, Board Room - Building B, Anaheim. CA 92805 6:30 p.m.
The Board President is requested to declare a public hearing for the purpose of review and adoption of a waiver request to modify AESD's Extended School Year (ESY) program from 20 days (4 hours daily) to 16 days of instruction (5 hours daily). The shift in schedule will facilitate alignment with the dates of the general education summer instructional program, support increased opportunities for inclusive programming, reduce challenges for families with students in multiple programs, and support greater cohesion for staff and students.
Use of the waiver request process will also ensure the District remains in compliance with Ed Code Section 3043 (d) related to Extended School Year.
After hearing comments from the public, the Board President will give notice that a vote on this item is scheduled at the April 8, 2026, Regular Board meeting.

School & District Parent & Family Engagement Policies 2025-2026
Research indicates that Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) help children achieve high academic standards. When schools work together with parents in school activities, and both schools and families engage in shared decision making regarding children’s education, students are more likely to acquire literacy at faster rates.
The links below contain the AESD and Parent & Family Engagement Policies. The policies are jointly developed with parents to establish objectives for meaningful parent and family involvement. (20 U.S.C. sections 6312, 6318[a][2])
